G. Pirooz Sholevar, MD, DFAPA, DAACAP is a diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in: 1) General Psychiatry 2) Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition, he is a fully trained Psychoanalyst (1972-1982) and Child Psychoanalyst (1974-1984) from Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Association of American Psychoanalytic Association. He is extensively trained in Family Psychiatry and Marital Therapy in University of Pennsylvania and Yorktown University and is a national authority on family psychiatry, particularly with children and adolescents.
He has had a highly distinguished career in academic psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry in three medical schools and universities namely Thomas Jefferson University/Medical College, Hahnemann University/Medical College (later Drexel University) and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the past 52 years.
Dr. Sholevar has published 11 books and two of them have been reprinted. His textbooks of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Family Psychiatry and Marriage and Marital Therapy have won national prizes and have been reprinted. His other books address the issues of depression, conduct/behavioral disorders psychoanalysis, sexual abuse and its consequences, new frontiers in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has published over hundred papers and book chapters on the above subjects.

- Founding Clinical Director for Albert Einstein Department of Psychiatry and Albert Einstein Community Mental Health Center (1969-1971).
- Founding Director of a) First Psychiatric Inpatient Hospital n Philadelphia and b) Partial hospital Program at Hahnemann University Hospital (1971-1977).
- Founding Director of Division of Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatry at Jefferson Medical College (1977-1992).
- Chairman, Department of Psychiatry at Cooper Medical Center and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Southern Division (1992-1997).
- Affiliation and establishment of Psychiatric Residency Program at Atlantic City Medical Center (1992-1997).
