Caitlin Dunbar, LMFT

Clinical Associate

Caitlin Dunbar, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Jersey. Her practice focuses on an array of human experiences including anxiety, depression, trauma, transitional life stages, and interpersonal conflict.

She has spent ten years working with children and adolescents and understands that it can be difficult for children to express themselves and their emotional needs, and that therapy can provide a safe space for them to strengthen those skills and build confidence. She specializes in helping children and teens navigate and cope with personal struggles relating to ADHD, self-harming behaviors, parent separation or divorce, as well as peer and school related stressors. Caitlin uses a collaborative approach to assist clients in both individual and family therapy. She has specifically completed trainings in art, play, and sand therapy to assist young children.

Additionally, Caitlin is passionate about working with couples. Relationships are difficult; and it can be helpful to have an objective professional assist partners’ in navigating challenges. She believes that every couple can benefit from learning new tools to help with communication and relational awareness. Caitlin has completed Gottman’s Method Couples Therapy Level One.

While she believes that relationships are one of the most important aspects of life, it is individuals that are the foundation. Caitlin also works with adults individually to help them navigate life stressors use a systemic approach and techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Her practice is LGTBQ+ friendly and she seeks to create a welcoming environment for all.
