Clinical Associate

Peggy David, LCSW, has been a Clinical Associate with CENTRA since 2006. Having served as Assistant Director of Jewish Family and Children's Service, where one of her many responsibilities was to supervise the clinical staff, she realized that her extensive training and experience were best used working directly with adolescents and adults.

With a strong belief that it is vitally important to understand and meet the needs of each client with the most relevant and appropriate therapeutic approach, Ms. David continues to build her broad knowledge base and diversify her skill set. She has had extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT has been found to be highly successful AND clients find it interesting and helpful for individuals as well as couples.

Ms. David is also a professionally trained Group Therapist. She likes to compare the Group Therapy experience to taking the research one has done in individual Therapy, into the Laboratory of the Group to test it out in a secure, professionally run, environment. The Group, which is limited in size, provides a "safe", judgment-free setting, with other individuals whose stressors and goals may be similar to yours, under the direction of a knowledgeable, experienced professional.

Peggy Dav.id is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Ohio State University. She is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Advanced training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from University of Pennsylvania faculty Advanced training in Group Therapy with University of Pennsylvania faculty.
