BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:

Utilizing an integrated model, which provides a facility to handle a variety of therapeutic situations.  Lyn Groome has an extensive and prestigious background in the mental health profession.

 

Trained at the Penn Council for Relationships, Division of Family Study, Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (formerly Marriage Council of Philadelphia), Groome subsequently spent 10 years there working as a clinician, trainer and supervisor.  Prior to that experience, she worked as a Problem Pregnancy Counselor at Women’s Suburban Clinic in Paloi, and as an Outpatient Therapist at the Charles Drew Community Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center in North Philadelphia. 

 

During her career, Ms. Groome has held Directorships with the Philadelphia Society for Services to children, the birth center in Bryn Mawr, PA,  Planned Parenthood of Philadelphia and serves on an advisory Board at the University of Pennsylvania.   

 

Additionally, Groome spent 4 years at the London Marriage Guidance Council in London, England, where she was a clinician and supervisor.  While there she introduced a systems orientation to the Guidance Council’s core curriculum.  She also maintained a private practice while in London.

 

Upon her return to Philadelphia in 1997, Ms. Groome joined Centra as a Clinical Associate.  She is a partner in a business consulting with high net worth clients Family Solutions Group.  She is also involved with an organization called the Community of Bosnia.
