Medical Director

"The shortest distance between two points may be a straight line, but people often learn a great deal on detours."

Graduating with a Psychology degree from Georgetown University, Peggy Harbison completed the #1 Clinical Psychology Master’s Program at West Chester University working first in a Social Work position at St. Mary’s residential facility for abused and neglected children; she then served as Residential Director of the facility.

As an immense respect for the process of therapy grew, as well as curiosity regarding the pharmacology and biological aspects of mental health, Peggy Harbison returned to medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She then completed her Psychiatry residency at the Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital. Upon graduation, she served as a consultant to the Renfrew Center, an inpatient eating disorders/women’s mental health facility.

Dr. Harbison has served as Medical Director of the Partial Hospital Program at Pennsylvania Hospital, as well as Director of Medical Education at Crozer-Chester Hospital. Currently Dr. Harbison is Medical Director at Centra, PC and is a Board Certified Psychiatrist.
