Whilst some traditional therapists might be described as adopting the stance, “I know; I’ll tell you”, the stance I advocate is one of “You know, you tell me”…the human psyche, like human bones, is strongly inclined towards self-healing. The psychotherapist’s job, like that of the orthopedic surgeon’s, is to provide the conditions in which self-healing can best take place. (John Bowlby 1988)

Dr. Wiley is a clinical psychologist licensed    in both Pennsylvania and Louisiana. For eight years, he was an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at the Tulane University School of Medicine,    Department of Psychiatry and Neurology in    New Orleans with a private practice in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Wiley earned his B.A., magna    cum laude in Psychology from Temple University    followed by both a Master of Arts with Distinction,    and his Doctor of Psychology with Distinction, from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology    (Atlanta). He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Society and has written and lectured extensively.
